The Clinic

Ivins Pain & Performance Clinic evolved from Ivins Chiropractic, which was originally established in 1998. The clinic operates under the clinical leadership of Dr Kevin Ivins, Pain & Performance Clinician, and reflects the continued development of a practice grounded in careful assessment, systematic clinical evaluation, and the integration of contemporary scientific understanding. Care is structured around detailed examination processes and individually informed clinical reasoning, allowing management strategies to be tailored to each patient's specific needs, context, and goals.

What sets the clinic apart is a whole-system approach that prioritises careful clinical reasoning, detailed assessment, and a willingness to go beyond surface explanations to identify factors contributing to persistent symptoms and reduced performance. Our goal is to deliver comprehensive, individualised care programs that support recovery, optimise physiological regulation, and enhance long-term functional capacity. This approach enables consistent, high-quality outcomes and enduring therapeutic relationships, forming the foundation of the clinic’s reputation.

Ivins Pain and Performance Clinic is a registered organisation with access to the My Health Record system.

The clinic is recognised as a clinical education site for medical students from the University of Sydney, providing opportunities for observational learning and exposure to contemporary pain and performance-focused healthcare.

Within the clinic, specialised clinical protocols are being developed in areas including autonomic regulation, vagal tone, cranial nerve function, and the assessment and management of dysautonomia, dural tension, and related neurophysiological presentations.

It is not just what we do… it is how we do it that sets the clinic apart.

This Is Your Day

  • “This Is Your Day” is a long-standing initiative established in 1998 to support individuals living with, or recovering from, cancer in collaboration with the McGrath Foundation. On this day, care is provided at no cost, with the focus entirely on dignity, compassion, presence, and support.

  • Through this initiative, Ivins Pain and Performance Clinic offers care to individuals affected by cancer, recognising the physical, neurological, and emotional burden that diagnosis and treatment can impose. The program reflects a commitment to service-led healthcare, where kindness and clinical attentiveness are prioritised over transactions.

  • Care provided within the clinic is centred on gentle, considered physical assessment and intervention, guided by an understanding of nervous system regulation, movement tolerance, and individual capacity. The aim is to support comfort, function, and recovery in a respectful, measured, and responsive manner that is responsive to each person’s circumstances.
